Dear Friends, Peers, Hiring Managers, Seniors, From Educational Fraternity and HR Fraternity members,
I
would like make a humble request for those who are tolling to make this
job fair work, including GITM Teachers, Directors, Staff, New Search
Consultants
and volunteers, I thank you in advance for honoring their efforts and
making your presence.
All those working are absolutely speechless with excitement!
We
never imagined that we could complete this task without the help from
august body of colleges GITM and Human Resources & Business
Fraternity, that is
you and your team.
We
believe wholeheartedly that the work of the GITM in next to greatness,
and we believe in the wonderful things that happen when our species
interact and
inter-relate to help each other. Something wonderful happens!
We
believe, when we approach the possibilities with honesty, honor,
respect and kindness, we know there is almost no end to the positive
potential and outcomes.
Several discussions I have participated in recently lead me to more
strongly believe we need to get on with identifying new sources for
Talent Acquisition ie; recruiting and hiring. HR faces a problem of
hiring and retention. We’ve studied the problem enough,
what we need is action!
The
GITM & New Search are doing a great job of conducting job fairs
already, and documenting needs of the company who are providing support
to this noble effort. New Search Staff, the Board of GITM and others
professional associated with this effort, including Business, Media and
HR community, are equally doing commendable job to educate employers to
come to single platform and hire. I am sure,
everyone they talk to is happy to help and contribute, with also
benefit to hire right talent.
It
not only brings the cost factor down but also adds value as community,
that we as Business, HR and Educational Professional, representing
a fraternity that are trying to help companies/organistion, and help
them see potential and a new source. I and sure and hope, the potential
turn out employees in these job fairs are really serious set of people,
who will add value to companies, in terms of
loyalty, longevity and right fit.
It
will also bring the new source, where we can see the real India. I have
been recruiting across domains and countries. I have found
that employees from Tier II & III Colleges and Cities employees
have higher retention. Even when the needs are limited and economy is
gruesome, there is always a needs for great talent in companies.
I
understand Team, from GITM, and New Search and professionals, recently
framed a Talent Acquisition Action Plan which recognized the
need for hiring across Tier II Level of colleges in NCR, over the next
years to support companies and emulate this model across India, such
that potential employers get, right kind of skilled employees.
It
is not to be forgotten and we as professionals recognize that currently
the economy is not doing so great, everything is on a slowdown
or on a policy paralysis…but the situation will not remain like this
forever… in good times when we as talent managers and professional
struggle for hiring right fit, it will become a challenge to find
talent. And when there is war for talent … we will need
some type of new source that is reliable, substantial and sustainable. I
think this is a great source, and it should be tapped by all companies.
And it requires encouragement, from one and all, and especially from
our region and Educational, HR & Business
Community. The reality is that we all need to help and be helped…. you,
me, and especially the kids who are going to pass out, as they will be
in our shoes some day...20 years from now. We need to lead the way to
make them see new arenas, so that they can
experiement as GITM and New Search are doing.
Have
you ever thought about what this job fair means to kids who are
stepping into real world of corporate? It means a lot for them,
it is world of opportunities for them. As guide and professional, it is
an opportunity to guide them and take this step forward to extend your
help and see the real world.
This
is really a game changer and organizer will need help and guidance from
one and all and it is also a game changer for employers
to find potential, at no price. And it is a no price, but it needs your
valuable time and support.
This
job fair is a place of a high level of activity, with many seminar and
colloquium talks, conferences, and workshops. It’s also an opportunity
to provide
training sessions, see old friends, network with colleagues from HR,
Education and Business Community. Of course, it’s all of these things,
but it’s also something more. It also represents our commitment as
leaders to help our kids and lead the way for social
innovation.
